Redesign of the National Emblem of the UAE

After an inspirational trip to Dubai I was thinking over and over again about a contemporary identity design for the UAE My question was how much impact would a slight makeover of the traditional heraldic sign have on how the United Arabic Emirates could be seen internationally. This is part of another ongoing project to create a wide range of contemporary Arabic designs with Arabic designers and students hence establishing an independent contemporary Arabic Design Identity based on the rich cultural heritage. German type designer Jan 'Yanone' Gerner was so kind to give me his kickass Arabic font 'Amman' which he recently developed for the Jordan capital.
